Dr. Bordone's journey in medicine began with a degree in biomedical engineering from Columbia University. Before entering medical school, she contributed to groundbreaking research at some of the nation's premier institutions, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), University of Arizona, University of Colorado, and Columbia University.
Dr. Bordone attended Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University. While in medical school, she completed a competitive melanoma research fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center, deepening her expertise in skin cancer and complex dermatologic conditions.
Dr. Bordone completed her intern year at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital (now part of Mount Sinai Hospital) in New York City, followed by a second year of internal medicine residency. She then completed three years of dermatology residency at Mount Sinai, where she developed her expertise in managing the intersection of internal medicine and dermatology.
Following residency, Dr. Bordone spent 12 years on faculty at Columbia University, where she specialized in hair loss disorders and complex medical dermatology. During this time, she became a sought-after expert for patients with challenging conditions, particularly autoimmune and metabolic disorders affecting the skin and hair.
